What is LVT Flooring?

What is LVT Flooring?

LVT is the acronym for luxury vinyl tile. It looks like natural materials such as wood, stone, marble, or travertine. At the same time, it offers advantages such as a lower price, better resistance to scratches, and better waterproofing. LVT has a digital print layer to make it look real and a wear layer to make it last longer. It comes in both boards and tiles.

LVT flooring is elegantly designed, very durable, and easy to clean, which is exactly what a good business flooring product should be. With luxury vinyl tile, you don't have to choose between good style and industrial use.

Benefits of LVT Flooring

Beautiful Designs

LVT flooring comes in a variety of patterns, from real-looking woodgrains to bright spots of color.

Sustainable

LVT flooring is made to last for many years, meets WELL and LEED approval standards, and is made with plasticizers that don't contain phthalates.

Easy to Maintain

Most types of vinyl floors can be cleaned with an easy two-bucket system. Luxury vinyl tile is also stain and scratch-proof by nature.

Types of LVT Flooring

Glue Down Vinyl Flooring

With the glue down method, your dryback luxury vinyl flooring will be adhered to its base with an adhesive. When you use an adhesive, it provides dimensional stability, which keeps the flooring's natural qualities.

Loose Lay Vinyl Flooring

Loose lay vinyl planks are a unique product that don't need any fasteners, glue, or tongue-and-groove systems to stay in place. When put in place, these thick vinyl squares lay on the floor. Loose lay vinyl flooring is easy to put down, and it stays in place over time because of contact. The planks are thick, rubber-backed vinyl squares that lay flat on a nice, smooth surface. Loose-lay vinyl floors can be installed on top of the floor you already have. It's easy for almost anyone to do. For these reasons, this type of flooring is popular, and it's also the main reason why loose lay vinyl flooring is so famous. This type of flooring is easy to understand, and there aren't many other goods like it on the market.

Rigid Core Vinyl Flooring

Rigid core is a click-locking floating floor that is a great alternative to laminate and engineered hardwood click floors. It has the same benefits as laminate and engineered hardwood click floors, like realistic wood or stone looks, but is more durable and waterproof.

Click Vinyl Flooring

Flooring that locks together is called vinyl click flooring. This flooring has all the benefits of regular LVT, durability, warmth, and water resistance. It also installs quickly and easily.

Myths About Luxury Vinyl Tile

Most of the myths about luxury vinyl flooring come from the time when sheet laminate was common. This was before the turn of the century. Read on to learn about these common misconceptions.

Myth 1: It will get old quickly.

This myth is about laminate flooring products that are made cheaply and have low-quality printing methods that make the designs disappear after a lot of use. With luxury vinyl flooring, the patterns won't fade because each collection is well thought out and made, and because the wear layers are made with new technology.

Myth 2: It only has one size.

Because lower-end laminate and vinyl flooring uses cheaper raw materials and doesn't have a textured wear layer, the design layers are made without texture. With the hot press method, each product has a real structure that you can see and feel.

Myth 3: It's just like laminate.

It isn't! They are made in totally different ways and out of very different materials. LVT flooring is much more durable than laminate flooring and can handle moisture, which laminate flooring cannot.

Myth 4: It's hard to maintain.

People often think that LVT flooring needs to be buffed, shined, waxed, and even mopped often to keep its look and strength. Luxury vinyl is naturally immune to scratches, stains, and water. It is also made to be easy to clean and maintain, so all you need is a simple two-bucket system to clean it.
