Laminate flooring offers fewer choices than carpeting but is made to replicate wood or stone so the look offers a more aesthetic appeal - just weekly cleaning with no extensive maintenance needed to laminate flooring.   

Cons: Laminate flooring is not as soft as carpet but can still offer comfort. Rooms are also much louder and colder because of lack of absorption. Laminate flooring lasts at least 8-15 years like carpeting but is easier to repair.
